For emergency photo recovery
- Image recall's 'Don't Panic' software can recover accidentally deleted and corrupted files from memory cards.

- ProShowGold: www.photodex.com There is also a ProShow Enthusiasts Forum where users of the software can post questions and read answers from other users.

Image manipulation
- Adobe: their range of photo software.
- Apple's Aperture software for organising and enhancing photos (for Mac computers)
- GIMP - open source (ie free) well-featured imaging program; seems an unusual 'front end' interface, but seems to 'do the job' in most cases.
Sundry
- 'Matworks' is an application to help you to mount your prints on mats, including calculating the size of openings on matting boards. Offered by Giorgio Trucco Photography.
